Pictured is one of Lyon Rural Electric's underground high voltage pedestals damaged by a vehicle. Each year Lyon Rural Electric has several of these pedestals hit by tractors pulling equipment and motor vehicles.

These pedestals contain high voltage wires that are terminated (high voltage electric connection). When these pedestals are hit and damaged, it causes a very dangerous situation. The wires inside can be exposed and have 7200 volts to ground! If you hit one of our boxes, report it immediately to us and stay away from the pedestal. DO NOT try to put the pedestal back in place. If the wires inside are still energized, you risk losing your LIFE
