Effective March 1, 2009
Iowa's State Electrical Inspection Program requires that your newly connected or reconnected electric installation be approved by a state-qualified electrical inspector prior to your electric cooperative energizing your newly connected or reconnected electrical installation.
There is only one exception to this requirement: In the event that the state cannot perform an inspection within three days of being notified that an inspection is necessary, the co-op may energize the installation.
This policy could affect the timing of turning on the electric service for new home construction and remodeling projects, as well as reconnecting a service after it has been shut off. If you have any questions about the new electrical inspection program, please contact NW Electrical Inspector Supervisor, Dwight Kramer at (515)290-0629
